My Tracfone service was about to expire a couple of days ago so I was trying to figure out what to do. My service days were ending but I still had more than 600 minutes on my account. I couldn’t find any way to simply add service days so I just decided to re-up with a 1 year card… which is always the most economical option anyway.
I activated my new phone and had my minutes transferred over to the new phone. This only required a single call to Tracfone customer service… which was not too painful other than the fact that my rep had a thick Jamaican accent. She wasn’t really the problem though… it was mostly the cacophony of noise spilling into her phone from her office in the background. But we got the job done.
Shortly thereafter I purchased a 1 year card online and added the airtime to my phone. I was a little shocked when I saw that I would be receiving 1000 minutes with the 1 year card! I had forgotten that this phone was a Double Minutes for Life (DMFL) phone.
I used promo code: 18197
This code adds another 200 free bonus minutes to a 1 year card. So I got 400 x 2 from the 1 year card plus 200 bonus minutes. Pretty awesome deal.
I should also mention that I got 30 or so free minutes and around 30 days of service just for activating my new phone as well. So now I have a whopping 1622.30 minutes to “spend” before March 2012. Maybe I’ll just leave the browser feature of my phone going for a couple of hours here and there.
